Windsmoor Cottage on Gower is a charming, 3 bedroom, semi-detached property nestled at the foot of Cefn Bryn within the picture postcard hamlet of Perriswood, and is perfect for exploring Britain’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the Gower Peninsula. Oxwich and Three Cliffs bays are within walking distance from the cottage. Locally, you can enjoy a host of water sports, surfing, kayaking, sailing and fishing, as well as an abundance of rock pools for children to explore.
This beautifully renovated cottage offers a great level of comfort throughout and has been thoughtfully furnished. On an evening, relax with your feet up in front of the cosy wood burner and rest after a busy day sightseeing. The country cottage kitchen is the perfect entertaining space with open plan dining area with French doors to your private patio. You may prefer to cook al fresco with a family BBQ in your large enclosed garden. The master bedroom enjoys views of the magnificent Gower coastline to the front and Cefn Bryn hillside to the rear. The owner offers guided Gower walks, packed lunches and holistic therapies (at cost) to enhance your stay at Windsmoor!
Enjoy cliff top walks along Rhossili, 7¼ miles, where hidden coves, beautiful bays, stunning beaches and breathtaking scenery await you. Surfing lessons and hire, hang gliding, horse riding and cycling are all available locally. A trip to Mumbles, 9¾ miles, is not to be missed complete with light house, Mumbles pier and a lifeboat station. Swansea is a short drive away, 12 miles, with a plethora of restaurants, markets and marina. Within an hours’ drive and well worth a visit is the lively capital city of Cardiff, with its National Museum of Wales at St Fagans, as well as the Cardiff Bay area. For golf enthusiasts, Pennard Golf Club is 4½ miles away. Beach 1½ miles. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

About the local area

Swansea, situated by an enclosed bay, has a long maritime tradition and is overlooked by brooding hills. The city has spacious green places in the form of extensive parklands and a striking shoreline. The wider county of Swansea lies within the Gower Peninsula, which was in fact Britain's very first designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.

This area offers visitors a varied mix of wonderful seascapes and sandy beaches, historic castles and woodland. Here there is evidence of early human occupation with some of the oldest human remains being discovered in this area. At just nineteen miles wide the Gower Peninsula is a microcosm of contrasting landscapes and ancient history.

For those staying within the Swansea area there are no less 54 public parks which extend right down to the shores of Swansea Bay. Of note is Clyne Gardens & Country Park which covers some 16 acres and includes panoramic sea views, bluebell woods, architectural follies, meandering streams, ornate bridges and a castle! Additionally horticulturists will not be disappointed with a large collection of plants and shrubs to be enjoyed. In fact it's a good idea for gardening enthusiasts to also head for Singleton Park which includes the city's botanical collection. Here you can also find a boating lake, picturesque Swiss cottage and is the place where large outdoor festivals and music galas are held.

To get a real taste of the local area visit Swansea Market, this is one of the largest indoor markets in the whole region and dates back to the twelfth century. It's a great place to potter around to soak up the local `colour' with stalls selling anything from fresh seafood to flowers and jewelry, souvenirs and local artworks.

The Gower Peninsula is simply ideal for holidays where lovely beaches, fun and relaxation are required. With a dramatic coastline it's ideal for cliff top walks and is the perfect place to re-connect with nature - it truly deserves its title `Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.
