Situated within the heart of the Dulais Valley at the edge of the village of Crynant, these barns have been converted to a good standard, with splendid views of March Hywel Mountain and numerous walks directly onto the mountain behind. Bwthyn Cerrig (ref W41454) is semi-detached, whilst The Old Stables (ref W42528) stands detached. Situated on a working farm with the owner’s friendly dogs, each property has shared use of the on-site facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and hot tub. Cefn Coed Coal Museum, Aberdulais Waterfalls and activities such as golfing, driving ranges, archery, paint balling and quad biking, are all available within a three mile radius. The famous Dan Yr Ogof Caves, and Craig y Nos Country Park are just 10 miles. The magnificent Gower Coast is approximately 18 miles and the Brecon Beacons are within 35 miles. Swansea town centre and Cardiff, both with excellent shopping, bars and clubs, are within driving distance. An ideal holiday base. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
Bwthyn Cerrig (W41454) can be booked together with The Old Stables (W42528) to accommodate up to 11 guests.

About the local area

Swansea, situated by an enclosed bay, has a long maritime tradition and is overlooked by brooding hills. The city has spacious green places in the form of extensive parklands and a striking shoreline. The wider county of Swansea lies within the Gower Peninsula, which was in fact Britain's very first designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.

This area offers visitors a varied mix of wonderful seascapes and sandy beaches, historic castles and woodland. Here there is evidence of early human occupation with some of the oldest human remains being discovered in this area. At just nineteen miles wide the Gower Peninsula is a microcosm of contrasting landscapes and ancient history.

For those staying within the Swansea area there are no less 54 public parks which extend right down to the shores of Swansea Bay. Of note is Clyne Gardens & Country Park which covers some 16 acres and includes panoramic sea views, bluebell woods, architectural follies, meandering streams, ornate bridges and a castle! Additionally horticulturists will not be disappointed with a large collection of plants and shrubs to be enjoyed. In fact it's a good idea for gardening enthusiasts to also head for Singleton Park which includes the city's botanical collection. Here you can also find a boating lake, picturesque Swiss cottage and is the place where large outdoor festivals and music galas are held.

To get a real taste of the local area visit Swansea Market, this is one of the largest indoor markets in the whole region and dates back to the twelfth century. It's a great place to potter around to soak up the local `colour' with stalls selling anything from fresh seafood to flowers and jewelry, souvenirs and local artworks.

The Gower Peninsula is simply ideal for holidays where lovely beaches, fun and relaxation are required. With a dramatic coastline it's ideal for cliff top walks and is the perfect place to re-connect with nature - it truly deserves its title `Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.
