Description

Situated in Rhossili, this beautiful detached cottage lies in a fantastic location with walks which are are spectacular and plentiful. There are three fabulous local beaches to explore, Llangennith beach, Fall Bay and Three Cliffs Bay, where there are lots of activities available, or you can simply relax and unwind in the sunshine. Perriswood Archery and Falconry Centre is approximately 6 miles away, where you can hold and feed various birds. Worm’s Head, part of the Wales Coastal Path, is a great adventure. You can walk over the cliffs and rocks to enjoy the fabulous views from the top, right over to parts of the Devon coast on a clear day, and you may even catch a glimpse of the seals too (be sure to check the tide times!). Rhossili has some great pubs and restaurants, perfect for watching the sun go down over the bay. Once you have done all that walking, come back to the property to sit in the enclosed garden, and perhaps light the barbecue and watch the sunset. On the ground floor of this beautiful holiday property, there is a living room, snug, dining room with patio doors leading to the garden, and a well-equipped kitchen which has everything you need to enjoy a self-catering holiday. There is also a convenient utility room and separate toilet on the ground floor too. On the first floor, the master bedroom has a kingsize bed with built-in Smart TV. There is a family bathroom and two further bedrooms; one with twin beds, the other with a bunk bed.

About the local area

Swansea, situated by an enclosed bay, has a long maritime tradition and is overlooked by brooding hills. The city has spacious green places in the form of extensive parklands and a striking shoreline. The wider county of Swansea lies within the Gower Peninsula, which was in fact Britain's very first designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.

This area offers visitors a varied mix of wonderful seascapes and sandy beaches, historic castles and woodland. Here there is evidence of early human occupation with some of the oldest human remains being discovered in this area. At just nineteen miles wide the Gower Peninsula is a microcosm of contrasting landscapes and ancient history.

For those staying within the Swansea area there are no less 54 public parks which extend right down to the shores of Swansea Bay. Of note is Clyne Gardens & Country Park which covers some 16 acres and includes panoramic sea views, bluebell woods, architectural follies, meandering streams, ornate bridges and a castle! Additionally horticulturists will not be disappointed with a large collection of plants and shrubs to be enjoyed. In fact it's a good idea for gardening enthusiasts to also head for Singleton Park which includes the city's botanical collection. Here you can also find a boating lake, picturesque Swiss cottage and is the place where large outdoor festivals and music galas are held.

To get a real taste of the local area visit Swansea Market, this is one of the largest indoor markets in the whole region and dates back to the twelfth century. It's a great place to potter around to soak up the local `colour' with stalls selling anything from fresh seafood to flowers and jewelry, souvenirs and local artworks.

The Gower Peninsula is simply ideal for holidays where lovely beaches, fun and relaxation are required. With a dramatic coastline it's ideal for cliff top walks and is the perfect place to re-connect with nature - it truly deserves its title `Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.
