Come and enjoy all that Dunns Meadow has to offer! Ideal for large groups and families alike, this Tudor-style house nestles on the beautiful north Gower coastline. Set on the edge of picturesque hamlet of Llanrhidian, it commands views over paddocks and out across the Burry Estuary from where you can take a short walk into the village to enjoy a spot of lunch. Attached to the owner’s home, Dunns Meadow is reached via a private entrance, and is centrally located to discover all that this stunning area has to offer within Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Locally, Llangennith Beach, Rhossili and Oxwich Bay are recommended visits, where a host of activities can be enjoyed by all ages, from walking, fishing, golf, surfing to building sandcastles.
Dunns Meadow has been thoughtfully furnished throughout, and offers a very good level of comfort. It boasts a spacious, galley-style kitchen and breakfast area, as well as a separate living room on the ground floor. This leads onto to a large, decked area where you can enjoy a morning coffee, or a barbecue al fresco. On the first floor, a galley-style kitchen with open plan dining area and a spacious living room with estuary views, making this property ideal for two families or groups that prefer privacy. A 2-minute walk away is a family-friendly restaurant, a great place where you can enjoy a delicious home-cooked lunch on the terrace on balmy summer days, or even sample some locally brewed ales. Travelling south from Dunns Meadow, The Mumbles makes a great day out. Here you can visit the lifeboat station and pier, and enjoy the views from the promenade. On your return trip, call in at Langland Bay or Caswell Bay, which also have enviable views. Swansea itself offers a wide variety of shopping, as well as a marina, theatres, a market, many restaurants and cafés, and a bustling nightlife. Beach 5 miles. Shop 800 yards, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

About the local area

Swansea, situated by an enclosed bay, has a long maritime tradition and is overlooked by brooding hills. The city has spacious green places in the form of extensive parklands and a striking shoreline. The wider county of Swansea lies within the Gower Peninsula, which was in fact Britain's very first designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.

This area offers visitors a varied mix of wonderful seascapes and sandy beaches, historic castles and woodland. Here there is evidence of early human occupation with some of the oldest human remains being discovered in this area. At just nineteen miles wide the Gower Peninsula is a microcosm of contrasting landscapes and ancient history.

For those staying within the Swansea area there are no less 54 public parks which extend right down to the shores of Swansea Bay. Of note is Clyne Gardens & Country Park which covers some 16 acres and includes panoramic sea views, bluebell woods, architectural follies, meandering streams, ornate bridges and a castle! Additionally horticulturists will not be disappointed with a large collection of plants and shrubs to be enjoyed. In fact it's a good idea for gardening enthusiasts to also head for Singleton Park which includes the city's botanical collection. Here you can also find a boating lake, picturesque Swiss cottage and is the place where large outdoor festivals and music galas are held.

To get a real taste of the local area visit Swansea Market, this is one of the largest indoor markets in the whole region and dates back to the twelfth century. It's a great place to potter around to soak up the local `colour' with stalls selling anything from fresh seafood to flowers and jewelry, souvenirs and local artworks.

The Gower Peninsula is simply ideal for holidays where lovely beaches, fun and relaxation are required. With a dramatic coastline it's ideal for cliff top walks and is the perfect place to re-connect with nature - it truly deserves its title `Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.
