Description

Delve into the delights of Bwthyn Bwlford hidden in beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside and centrally positioned to discover all that this area has to offer. This quaint stone built cottage, attached to the owner’s farmhouse, is surrounded by 13 acres of mature fields and woodland on a picturesque smallholding. There are ponds on-site available for coarse fishing, with a selection of carp, mirror carp, rudd, roach, perch and gudgeon available for catch and release. Guests at Bwthyn Bwlford are permitted to fish at no extra cost.
This very comfortably appointed cottage has been thoughtfully restored back to its former glory with original beamed windows and alcoves. In the evening you can enjoy dining al fresco using the BBQ and finish the evening star gazing from your own private and secluded hot tub. Formal dining can be enjoyed in the open plan living area with direct access onto the spacious enclosed decking area.
A 10-minute drive from Johnston brings you to Broad Haven beach. This picture postcard cove looks out onto St Brides Bay and offers fantastic coastal walks, fishing, bird watching, or you may want to build sand castles with your family. Travelling south along this rugged and scenic coastline you will come across the small fishing village of Little Haven. Why not try some fresh line caught sea bass or lobster whilst enjoying the sea views?
A short drive from Bwthyn Bwlford is the harbour town of Milford Haven with its pretty picture postcard marina and host of pubs, shops and restaurants. Watch the world go by and relax whilst taking in the beautiful scenery at the harbour side with a freshly brewed coffee. Travelling a little further along this magnificent and dramatic coastline you will find Martin’s Haven where you will discover Lockley Lodge Visitor Centre, which is the gateway to the islands of Skomer and Skokholm. This really is a wildlife haven and well known for its puffins, gannets, razorbills and, of course, grey seals and dolphins.
A 30-minute drive is Anna Ryder Richardson’s West Wales Wildlife Park where you can meet southern white rhinos, the resident tiger or get up close in the wallaby’s walkthrough. Those looking for an adrenalin rush should visit Oakwood, Wales’ largest theme park. Beach 3 miles. Shop and restaurant 3 miles, pub 800 yards.

About the local area

Pembrokeshire has tremendous variety. From majestic cliffs to sand dunes, from broad river estuaries to cascading streams, from gently rolling arable land to rocky outcrop - all can be seen within a few miles of each other.

This wealth of contrasts is due to the very bones of the land. The fact that such a variety of rock types occur within such a comparatively small area has directly affected the scenery and history of this westerly quarter of Wales.

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, one of Britain's breathing spaces, takes in about a third of the county including the entire coastal strip, the upper reaches of the Daugleddau and the Preseli's. Its the only National Park that is almost all coastal. The National Park run an extensive programme of activities and events for both adults and children so you can really make the most of what the area has to offer.

Pembrokeshire is also the capital of activities! Everything from coasteering, diving, sailing and surfing by the coast to riding, walking and cycling just about anywhere! Just don't forget to relax on one of 83 beaches in the county!
