Far from the madding crowd in the absolutely stunning Cwm Nantcol Valley, this charming and traditional, Welsh stone, semi-detached cottage adjoins the owner’s farmhouse on their working sheep farm. It is surrounded by 1500 acres of farmland encompassing the Rhinog Mountains, where guests are free to explore. The farm has fishing rights on the river that flows through the valley, and for the energetic, a good hour’s walk will take you to two private lakes and of course those stunning views. The whole area is perfect for walking and wildlife spotting, the valley is home to wild goats, buzzards, foxes and cuckoos to name just a few.
Just a short drive back down the valley is the pretty village of Llanbedr, which has two good dining pubs and a small village store, along with access to Shell Island and fabulous sandy beaches. Both Barmouth and Harlech, with its magnificent castle and championship golf course, are easily accessible. An ideal base for a peaceful get away from it all holiday, with the most incredible panoramic views, stunning sunsets over Cardigan Bay and perfect dark skies for star gazing. Beach 7½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 5 miles.
