Description
Named after the Snowdonia peak most prominent in its view, Elidir Cottage nestles on farmland just outside the quiet village of Bontnewydd. Detached from the farm buildings, this lovingly converted and tastefully co-ordinated 100-year-old property provides an idyllic setting and is the perfect base for relaxing or for exploring the Snowdonia National Park and the scenic Llyn Peninsula. Caernarfon Castle, Elidir (Electric Mountain), Mt. Snowdon and the isle of Anglesey can all be seen from the rear of the property and are well worth a visit. The cottage is a 10 minute walk from the village shop and pub or a 5 minute drive from the medieval walled town of Caernarfon, with its World Heritage listed castle. The Welsh Highland steam train passes through the village during the summer, providing scenic views from Caernarfon to Porthmadog. The Lon Eifion cycle path is accessible from the village and provides a popular route for visiting Caernarfon. Horse riding and golf are also available locally. The property is 5 miles from Dinas Dinlle beach, which is popular with families, or 20 miles from Ty Coch, the famous pub on a sandy beach. 15 miles to the west is the world’s longest zip wire ride - at Bethesda quarry. Elidir Cottage can be booked with Gadlas (ref OE9) to sleep up to 10 guests. Shop and pub 1/2 mile.
