Bwthyn Talarran is in the pretty town of Dolgellau, with a range of individual shops and delightful cafés and eateries. You can hire a bike or walk along the Mawddach Trail, which follows the track bed of the old railway line to Barmouth, giving unique views of the Mawddach Estuary and the famous Barmouth Bridge. At Barmouth you’ll find an enormous sandy beach, so don’t forget to take your bucket and spade. No visit to North Wales would be complete without a ride on one of the Great Little Trains of Wales, and at Dol y Clochydd, you’re within easy reach of the Talyllyn Railway at Tywyn, the Bala Lake Railway at Llanuwchllyn and the Ffestiniog Railway which runs between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Blaenau Ffestiniog is also home to Zip World Titan, the largest zip wire zone in the world, and Bounce Below, the only place in the world where you can bounce on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern. Beach 11 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
