Walks are available straight from the door, and just 13 miles away is the impressive Lake Vyrnwy with its huge Victorian dam. The pretty town of Welshpool has much to offer, with walks along the Montgomery Canal, a selection of individual shops and eating places, and the impressive Powys Castle and Gardens (National Trust) where you can learn about the history of the Herbert family, visit the Clive of India Museum, meander through the world famous gardens, or simply enjoy a cream tea in the tearoom! Shop and pub 1 mile, restaurant 6 miles.
