Description

Peacefully nestled within the quaint hamlet of Cilcennin and just a short drive away from the bustling coastal resort of Aberaeron, this well-appointed, detached cottage has been thoughtfully put together and provides the perfect touring base from which to explore the rolling countryside and dramatic coastline of beautiful Ceredigion.

Renovated in 2019, the cottage has been finished to a very good standard, providing spacious living areas, a modern kitchen and wonderful welcoming touches have been added such as a blazing wood burner, perfect for those cosy nights in following a busy day’s adventure.

The area itself has lots to offer and is home to the iconic Heritage Coastal Path, where outstanding walks, magnificent scenery and sandy beaches can be found. Here you’ll discover the bustling coastal resorts of Aberaeron and New Quay, home to picturesque fishing harbours and a plethora of highly acclaimed restaurants, traditional Welsh pubs, eclectic gift shops and golden beaches. A visit to the area would not be complete without a sea safari around the glistening Cardigan Bay, cruising close to rare sea birds, grey seals and the resident bottlenose dolphins.

About the local area

One of the most rural counties in Wales, overlooking Cardigan Bay, Ceredigion offers unspoilt countryside and uncrowded beaches. Much of the coastline is designated as a `heritage coast', and is one of Britain's most diverse areas for marine wildlife.

The coast is home to a resident pod of some 130 bottlenose dolphins as well as porpoises and grey seals. Eco-friendly boat trips to fully experience the coastline and its wildlife run frequently in the summer months from New Quay and Aberaeron. Hidden coves and sandy beaches also allow you to escape from the crowds.

Inland the countryside is a green vastness of hills and valleys dotted with small villages and market towns. There are several nature reserves, home to rare species of flora and fauna. Explore these on one of the many walking trails across the county and for the more adventurous; there is an awesome 35 km mountain biking trail in Nant Bwlch yr Arian high in the Cambrian Mountains. And afterwards, treat yourself to an award wining honey ice cream from Aberaeron!

Aberdaron Beach is at the end of the Llyn Peninsula. It is a beautiful sandy beach, sheltered by headlands, which stretches for a mile.
