Description

Set in an ideal location, just outside the west Wales town of Aberystwyth Cardigan Bay, these two holiday properties (ref W42354 & W42356) are part of a cluster of ten and enjoy the best of both worlds, being within walking distance of the local shops yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town life to provide a relaxing and peaceful setting for your holiday. Once an important dairy farm in the area providing milk to Aberystwyth and the local area, it has since enjoyed a new lease of life having been sympathetically converted to a very good standard. Aberystwyth and Clarach Bay, with country foot paths to both, 1 mile. The land is now being farmed under Tir Gofal a pioneering Welsh agri-environmental scheme, which encourages sustainable farming, in a way that cares for the wildlife, historical and cultural features on the land. Ideally located as a touring base for all of Wales benefiting from its central location. Shops, pubs and restaurants 1 mile.

About the local area

One of the most rural counties in Wales, overlooking Cardigan Bay, Ceredigion offers unspoilt countryside and uncrowded beaches. Much of the coastline is designated as a `heritage coast', and is one of Britain's most diverse areas for marine wildlife.

The coast is home to a resident pod of some 130 bottlenose dolphins as well as porpoises and grey seals. Eco-friendly boat trips to fully experience the coastline and its wildlife run frequently in the summer months from New Quay and Aberaeron. Hidden coves and sandy beaches also allow you to escape from the crowds.

Inland the countryside is a green vastness of hills and valleys dotted with small villages and market towns. There are several nature reserves, home to rare species of flora and fauna. Explore these on one of the many walking trails across the county and for the more adventurous; there is an awesome 35 km mountain biking trail in Nant Bwlch yr Arian high in the Cambrian Mountains. And afterwards, treat yourself to an award wining honey ice cream from Aberaeron!
