Description

Within easy walking distance of Aberporth’s two blue flag awarded beaches, sits Awel y Mor (meaning Sea Breeze). This detached holiday property has been completely refurbished to the highest standard and has rightly been awarded a 5* rating by Visit Wales. Beautifully presented and boasting a fresh and contemporary ambience, the owners have created the ideal holiday retreat. After a day at the beach, the enclosed garden offers the ideal spot to enjoy a barbecue where adults can relax, while little ones play. Rustle up a meal in the newly fitted kitchen on those cooler evenings, whilst the modern lounge boasts a 50" Plasma TV and is tastefully decorated. The two bedrooms are furnished and decorated beautifully and each has its own TV and DVD player. An evening spent at the nearby Moharni Indian Restaurant is a must, where you can enjoy an exciting experience of Asian cuisine. A gentle stroll away is the Ship Inn Pub, a friendly and welcoming place to eat, drink and relax - sit under the heated terrace to enjoy the views of the sea and maybe spot a dolphin! Further afield are Gardd Y Nos (1 mile away) and The Old School Steak House and Grill (3 miles) - both are family run restaurants serving excellent home cooked dishes, all made from fresh local produce.

About the local area

The sandy, sheltered beaches at Aberporth bustle with activity during the summer season, making the seaside village one of Ceredigion’s favourite holiday destinations. Rock pools are exposed at low tide and waiting to be explored by little hands! With its sandy beaches and great local amenities, there’s much to keep you in Aberporth, but wander just 1 mile along the Ceredigion Coastal Path to discover Tresaith, another award winning sandy beach, a tiny village that hugs the hillside with a natural waterfall that leaps from the cliff to the rocks below. Another pub called the Ship Inn offers great food. As well as incredible views from its terrace, it offers a  fantastic spot for watching sensational sunsets over Cardigan Bay. Walks along Ceredigion’s Heritage Coast are a must and truly breathtaking. The Cardi Bach bus service is an all year round service connecting towns and villages between Cardigan and New Quay - explore the spectacular scenery of Cardigan Bay, ideal for walkers to take a one way journey and return along the Coast Path. There are also lots of drop off/pick up points along the way. The historic market town of Cardigan is just a 15 minute drive away. Its unspoilt townscape and rich heritage is home to a whole host of attractions and amenities to suit all ages and weathers. This corner of Wales has something to offer everyone: an 18 hole golf course, sailing, surfing, angling, sea fishing, coastal voyages, bird watching and pony trekking. Luxury and comfort abound at Awel y Mor - with so much to see and do right from its doorstep, you will definitely want to return again and again!
