Watersports

Windsurfing, kitesurfing, diving, kayaking, coasteering...

There are over 43 beaches throughout Wales offering such activities as coasteering, rafting, water skiing, kite surfing and gliding. Over 30 beaches have been awarded with the international blue Flag award ensuring the water quality of the beach is excellent.

From the exciting developments in Cardiff Bay, to the Glamorgan Heritage Coast in the south, through to Pembrokeshire, the Teifi Estuary, Cardigan Bay, the Llyn Peninsula and the Isle of Anglesey there's a wide choice of award winning beaches and clean clear water, sheltered estuaries, crashing surf and an abundance of wildllife and natural scenic beauty. If you are looking for a watersport activity holiday then Wales is ideal.

Further inland there are ample lakes and rivers to exercise more activities such as canoeing, caving, scrambling and yachting.  There are many accredited activity companies which offer high quality training and equipment ensuring you stay safe whilst making the most of what Wales has to offer.

Surfing in Wales
Wales has some of the finest surfing opportunities in the UK, and with surf school and beach condition to suit all skill levels, you’ll barely have time to do anything else! Most surfing schools in Wales provide a beginner's board and full wetsuit, and your instructor will have you on your feet and riding in a couple of hours. Or if you prefer to do it alone there are numerous beaches to discover across the Welsh coastline which will cater for all abilities.

White Water Rafting in Wales
White water rafting is an ideal way to experience the excitement of moving white water - a must for those who enjoy getting wet and love white-knuckle rides. Wales offers numerous activity schools who will guide you down the rapids safely.

Diving in Wales
Pembrokeshire is no doubt the place to go for scuber diving in Wales. The Skomer Marine Nature Reserve is one of only a handful of underwater reserves in the UK.  Here you will discover an abundance of marine organisms and habitats, from the smallest nudi-branch to the most playful grey seal.

And if none of these three top activities catch your eye why not have a go at something a bit different such as coasteering, rafting, caving, water skiing, windsurfing, canoeing, gilding or even scrambling!
