With the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path passing the front door, the Havenlink water transport service calling at the marina, the Coastal bus service running an efficient link to all Pembrokeshire coastal villages and the railway station being less than half a mile away, you need not explore Pembrokeshire by car. The Havenlink, operating through the summer months and accessed just 400 metres away from the house at the marina's Mackerel Stage, is a great way/ to visit beaches and coastal villages. Lawrenny, a picturesque, secluded village, up river and in the heart of the National Park, marks the furthest destination of the water bus. As well as a great pub, Lawrenny offers way marked routes for walkers through stunning countryside and the multi award winning, Quayside Tearoom, where sandwiches and baguettes rub shoulders with Roast Lobster, wild mushroom tart and freshly landed local crab and the array of homemade cakes bring people from far and wide. Or enjoy the golden sandy beach at Angle, another Havenlink stop. Cruise Wales, amongst others offer a variety of specific boat trips from the marina. Their 'Haven of Wildlife Tour' offers the chance to visit the teeming Gannet colony on Grassholm Island and the Puffins, Shearwaters and seals around Skomer and Skokholm. Whales, porpoises and dolphins can all be sighted on such trips too! or why not take a day trip to Southern Ireland, the Irish Ferries run a regular service through the Haven to Pembroke Dock, which again can be accessed via the Havenlink. Close to home, the marina itself, packed with a multitude of yachts, offers much to do and see. As well as shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and galleries, ther's a bowling alley, a museum tracing the town's history and even a working seal hosptial to which visitors are welcome. Marthas Vineyard with its menu based on local produce and fresh fish is a great waterside dining spot for lunches and evening meals and its balcony offers the perfect place to admire the many splendid sail boats. With the Torch Theatre (and cinema) just 500 metres from Waters View and a busy local events diary, there's plenty of entertainment to be had in the town itself but the rest of Pembrokeshire, such a beautiful country, with a wealth of tourist attractions can't be ignored. Theme parks, castles, incredible beaches, nature reserves, gardens, zoos and even a vineyard and a chocolate factory can all be accessed within a half hour's drive of Waters View. The medieval walled town of Tenby with its stunning beaches and timeless appeal is only 17 miles away; while St Davids, the UK's smallest city is just 20 miles along the coast. A trip to the charming village of Bosherton, just 14 miles away, makes for a memorable experience: Meander through the 100 acres of the breathtakingly beautiful, Stackpole Estate Lily Ponds and on to the unspoilt white sands of Broadhaven South. A walk across the headland to the east reqards you with Barafundle Bay, listed by the Times as one of the top ten beaches in the world!..... while a walk to the west, brings you to the extraordinary sight of St Govan's tiny stone chapel, in a cleft, squeezed between sheer rocky cliffs. The Green Bridge of Wales, a natural limestone arch, a step or two further along the coast shouldn't be missed either; with the waves crashing around it, it's certainly a spectacular sight! There really is so much on offer in Pembrokeshire and with style, comfort and convenience, Waters View provides a superb base from which to do and see it all.
