Description

In the coastal village of  Dale, within the UK’s only Coastal National Park, sits Sea Breeze; an immaculate, 3 bedroomed bungalow, just 300 yards from the beach. While perched in an ordinary street, meteorological records show that this is no ordinary village but is in fact, one of the sunniest spots in the country! The private, sun-trap, patio area within the pretty, back garden provides the ideal spot for whiling away some of those sunshine hours when you’re not on one of Dale’s two beaches: While generously proportioned beds, in tastefully furnished bedrooms, make recuperation from coastal adventure a pleasure. The sea lies tantalisingly close; the view from the living-room window sees it sparkle at the end of the street; making Sea Breeze perfectly located for an effortless, car-free, family holiday.

The village of Dale, while generally free of the trappings of mass-tourism, does offer something to coax everyone onto the sparkling blue waters of this sensational coastline. Tuition and equipment hire for everything from surfing and sailing to canoeing and coasteering are available from West Wales Wind Surf and Sailing. The family- friendly, Griffin Inn, overlooking the water and just a few hundred yards from Sea Breeze, provides an ideal venue for lunches and evening meals, offering a varied menu based on fine Pembrokeshire produce and locally caught seafood. The RSPB nature reserve of Skomer Island is plainly visible from West Dale beach and beckons adventure: Accessed by a 15 minute boat trip from Martin’s Haven, just 4 miles away, it can’t be missed! In this incredible world dedicated to wildlife, dolphins, grey seals, guillemots, fulmars, cormorants, shags and shearwaters are a common sight and between April and July, you’ll be able to get within a few feet of the famous Puffins as they return to the island to breed. With fantastic fishing opportunities, miles of coastal path, sensational beaches and water-sports of every kind, you’d be forgiven for not leaving the immediate area but no holiday in Pembrokeshire would be complete without a trip to St Davids, the UK’s smallest city, just 20 miles away. Dominated by its enchanting medieval cathedral, it’s a place that celebrates its historic, national importance and uniqueness all year round: From March’s St David’s Day celebrations, offering everything from the best cawl competitions to splendid cathedral concerts to the nine day classical music fest in May/June, its cultural significance is frequently lauded. From September’s Really Wild Food and Countryside Festival to a mass of Christmas festivities, there’s likely to be something celebrated or exhibited whenever you visit. The county town of Haverforwest lies just 12 miles north of Dale and with its Georgian architecture and remains of a Norman castle, it’s an intriguing place. The fortnightly Riverside Farmer’s Market, voted best of its kind in the UK and the weekly, vast, undercover car boot sale at the air field, is a bargain hunter’s dream. But whatever your adventure and whatever the season, on returning to Sea Breeze you can’t fail to appreciate the comfort and convenience it offers; it’s undoubtedly a place you’ll want to visit time and time again!
