Description

Cennen Lodge is a newly built property offering high quality accommodation for 8 - 10 people.  The property is located in the small hamlet of Trap, nestled beneath Carreg Cennen Castle and enjoys outstanding views. The castle stands on top of a 300 foot precipice above the River Cennen – a view which can be enjoyed from the property itself, or while sitting outside on the patio.  Great attention has been paid to décor and colour within the property, with wooden floors and under-floor heating on the ground floor and new modern furniture and fittings throughout the house.  Cennen Lodge overlooks stunning countryside and the grounds offer plenty of space for children to play safely. The Beacons Way Footpath passes close by with the magnificent scenery of the castle with red kites flying overhead - ideal for country lovers, bird watchers and hikers.  Guests will be able to take advantage of the owner’s traditional country pub and restaurant, which is located opposite the property.  Enjoy a warm welcome and traditional pub food made with locally sourced products.

On the western side of the Brecon Beacons lie the old market towns of Llandeilo (3.5 miles) and Llandovery (16 miles).  Both are charming market towns with excellent local shops, galleries and fine dining.  Llandeilo, which is said to be the jewel in the Towy’s crown, is rich in history and culture, an area which attracts many tourists and holiday makers every year.

The town of Carmarthen, said to be the birthplace of Merlin, the legendary wizard of King Arthur, is 19 miles away and holds its markets on a Wednesday and Saturday and boasts excellent shopping.

A 10 minute car journey takes you to Aberglasney House, located in the beautiful Towy Valley, featuring one of the finest gardens in Wales and an inspiration to poets since 1477.  The famous National Botanical Gardens of Wales is 16 miles away - a unique project created from scratch. Close by are the Black Mountains, Llyn Brianne and Dinefwr Castle Estate.  Enjoy a visit to Dinefwr Park and Newton House, a National trust property, to see its white cattle, lake and Deer park.  Dinefwr Castle is perched on a crag with tremendous views along the Towy Valley.

Cardigan Bay and the excellent sandy beaches of the Gower are just over an hour’s drive.  Trout and salmon fishing, climbing, swimming, golf and riding can all be enjoyed locally. This beautiful part of Wales is steeped in history with three ancients castles close by.  With the Brecon Mountain range on your door step, the Garden of Wales and the Pembrokeshire and Gower Coastlines a short drive away, there is an exhausting list of activities and days out in the area to suit everyone’s needs.  Cennen Lodge is an ideal base for your holiday!
