Nearby, Bwlch y Groes – the highest pass in Wales – leads to the spectacular lakes at Bala and Vyrnwy (RSPB reserve). Dolgellau and Machynlleth are 10 miles, Aberdovey and Barmouth 20 miles. The area covered by Snowdonia Mountains and Coast is not surprisingly dominated by the Snowdonia National Park. However, it also includes the stunning Cambrian Coast which is also worthy of a visit.
