Perched on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park is the small farming village of Llanddoged, a quiet haven for visitors to Wales seeking a cottage in the Welsh countryside, miles from the hustle and bustle of large towns.

Consisting of little more than a parish church, a primary school and a number of farms, the village has a small, largely Welsh-speaking population who are closely linked to the nearby hamlets of Groesffordd and Tan-Lan. The village shares its community council with the rural community of Maenan.

A Roman road runs close to the village, leading into the surrounding hills and connecting Llanddoged with the Roman fort at Caerhun.
