Driftwood Cottage is a delightful compact two up, two down terraced house in the idyllic coastal town of Aberdovey in the Snowdonia National Park. The property welcomes up to two dogs. Aberdovey is a bustling harbour resort where the river Dyfi meets the waters of Cardigan Bay and has been described as one of the most beautiful holiday destinations in Wales. Aberdyfi boasts some of the finest beaches in Wales with four miles of sand-dune shoreline extending north to the town of Tywyn. For water-sport enthusiasts Aberdovey is an ideal destination as activities available include sailing, surfing, rowing, windsurfing, and canoeing, fishing, and boat trips. An extensive range of summer activities such as puppet shows, beach games and theatre are held for children and donkey rides are available through the sand-dunes.

For golf enthusiasts Aberdovey has an 18-hole championship links course which lies to the landward side of the dunes at the western end of the village. Other sports available include bowling and putting, tennis, walking and cycling with cycle hire available from Llanegryn or Tywyn. Adrenalin adventure activities are provided near Trawsfynydd. The varied natural habitat of the area and the nearby RSPB reserves will appeal to all wildlife enthusiasts.
The historic narrow gauge Talyllyn Steam Railway (the first preserved steam railway in the world) which runs from Tywyn to Abergynolwyn and Nant Gwernod and which passes the spectacular Dolgoch Waterfalls is an attraction not to be missed. The railway offers a range of special events throughout the year. For mountain lovers the peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy mountain range should not be missed and there are numerous mountain and coastal path routes for walkers of all levels. For the less energetic musical concerts by Bro Dysynni Male Voice Choir and by the Dyfi Singers often take place in Neuadd Dwyfor (Dwyfor Hall).
Aberdovey has a good range of restaurants, pubs, cafes and take away establishments to suit all tastes. For art lovers there are numerous art galleries and the variety of specialist shops in the area mean that visitors are well catered for. The renowned Centre of Alternative Technology with the aim of increasing environmental awareness is 14 miles away from Aberdovey and for history lover there are Castles and historic monuments which are accessable and may also be of interest. Aberdovey is an ideal holiday destination with attractions to appeal to everyone of all ages and interests.
