Long-term favourite destination for families looking for a fun-filled Welsh holiday, Rhyl has benefited from significant investment and regeneration in recent years.
One beneficiary of funding secured by the Welsh Assembly Government is Rhyl’s six-mile stretch of golden beaches, where visitors can enjoy donkey rides and safely-patrolled sands to play and relax on.
Attractions along the coastline have changed over the years and the current stand-out features include the 76 metre high Sky Tower with its panoramic views of North Wales, and Rhyl Childrens Village theme park.
The Marine Lake area of Rhyl is also a focal point of regeneration, with the Ocean Plaza development including retail and leisure facilities currently in the building stages. Marine Lake offers watersports and fishing, as well as train rides on the Rhyl Miniature Railway.
Like its neighbour Llandudno, Rhyl is within close reach of Snowdonia, Anglesey and many of Wales’ historic castles.
