On the very northern tip of mainland Wales lies its largest and most popular coastal resort, Llandudno.

Two limestone headlands, named Great Orme and Little Ormes, sit either side of Llandudno and the town boasts two equally enjoyable but starkly contrasting beaches.

On the north shore, visitors can enjoy the sweeping expanse of sand and shingle that forms Llandudno Bay, as well as the town’s award-winning Victorian promenade, known as The Parade. The North Wales Theatre and the North Wales Conference Centre can be found here, as well as the Grade II listed Llandudno Pier, which extends 376 metres into the Irish Sea. On a clear day, the mountains of Snowdonia can be viewed from the end of the pier.

On the west shore of Llandudno, a more secluded beach on the estuary of the River Conwy can be found, where Alice Liddell – the child who inspired Lewis Carroll’s Adventures in Wonderland – played amongst the sand dunes.

Llandudno is a stunning holiday resort with self-catering cottages available all year in the town itself or the surrounding countryside. Golfers can enjoy two top class courses at Llandudno Golf Club and the nearby North Wales Golf Club, while there is something for everyone at the Victorian Carnival and funfair that takes place on May Bank Holiday weekend each year.
