Set in this beautiful part of North Wales, the foot of Snowdon is just 10 miles away and from the village of Llanberis it is possible to catch a train to the summit which is approximately 3,560 feet above sea level as well as a number of footpaths for those who enjoy walking. Also at Llanberis it is possible to visit the power station and Padam Lake offers a wide variety of water sports. Climbing and abseiling equipment is also available to hire. The beautiful coastline offers fantastic sandy beaches with Dinas Dinlle being a great attraction popular with families with its shallow waters and great fishing as well as free parking and beach shops and cafes. From the north end of the beach it is possible to take a pleasure flight from Caernarfon Airport which will take you over the impressive Caernarfon Castle, the Menai Straits and Snowdon. A visit to Caernarfon Castle itself is a must being probably the most famous castle in Wales whilst indoor family activities are catered for at Caernarfon Leisure centre. Llandudno offers a multi screen cinema and a trip to the Sea Life Centre and Tropical Sun Centre at Rhyl is well worth while.
