Newborough is an attractive coastal village in the south western corner of Anglesey. It has a beautiful golden sandy beach which stretches for miles, from Abermenai Point on the Menai Strait in the south, to Llanddwyn Island in the north. It enjoys spectacular views of Snowdonia National Park, Caemarfon and the Lleyn Peninsula.
The village is surrounded by very scenic countryside, in particular at Newborough Warren which is one of the largest areas of sand dunes found in the UK. Superb walking is also available at nearby Newborough Forest which is a 2000 acre site. Much of the area around Newborough has been declared a nature reserve, making it popular for bird and wildlife enthusiasts.
Newborough Beach is very popular with kite surfers and there is an expansive sandy Blue Flag beach at Llanddwyn, which provides access to Llanddwyn Island, a mile-long rocky promontory . Llanddwyn Island is the jewel in the crown of the west coast of Anglesey, having several beautiful coves, pleasant shingle and sandy beaches and superb views of Snowdonia and the Lleyn (Llyn) Peninsula. If you are lucky enough to visit on a warm summers day then It is strongly recommend to take along your swimming costume as you won't find many more inviting waters than the waters off Llandwyn Island.
Just outside the village is Tacla Taid, the Anglesey Transport and Agriculture Museum, which is the largest of its kind in Wales. Towards Dwyran, there is a chance to view all of Anglesey's major attractions in miniature, at Anglesey Model Village.
