The area is a walker’s delight with many dedicated walks locally, including the Three Castles walk, which links the Norman castles at Skenfrith, White Castle and Grosmont. The local produce market in the village hall is well established and regarded as one of the best in the area. Cycling is an equally popular way to explore Monmouthshire’s breathtaking scenery. The Forest of Dean boasts outdoor pursuits in abundance, with canoeing, kayaking, climbing, fishing and dedicated cycle routes for all abilities. Go Ape is a fantastic high wire adventure to try with the teenagers, and there’s also Puzzlewood and the Forest Steam Railway, which make for an exciting day trip. Monmouth, Ross-on-Wye and Abergavenny, renowned for its food festivals, are all within easy driving distance. For fine dining, there is a pub just a few minutes’ walk from the property, and there are several more slightly further afield. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
