The little village of Llanbrynmair, or in Welsh ‘St Mary’s on the Hill’, takes its name from the picturesque church of St Mary that sits at the top of a hill on the road to nearby Llanidloes.
With a population of just under 1,000, the village is nestled between the valleys of three rivers – Afon Twymyn, Afon laen and Afon Rhiw Saeson. The sweeping landscapes of the valleys make for spectacular walking routes and the 132-mile Glyndwr Way passes just by the village of Llanbrynmair.
Holiday cottages in the area are well placed for walking routes, golf courses and a short drive to the golden beaches of Cardigan Bay.
The locals in the village make good use of the modest facilities, keeping the Wynnstay Arms thriving and nurturing a warm community atmosphere.
