Description

These two delightful barn conversions are adjacent to the owners home and overlook the peaceful rolling countryside of rural mid Wales. The Owl House (ref UK6485) sleeps 11 and is a beautifully crafted property with much made of wood. The full length windows in the kitchen/dining room overlook a pretty decked area outside complete with barbecue. With steps throughout the ground floor, the upstairs living room is accessed by a stunning spiral staircase. Tawny Barn (ref UK6486) is another cosy barn conversion sleeping 3 people.
There are walks from the door, and it is only a short distance by car to the pretty town of Llanfyllin, which is well worth exploring. In the other direction is Lake Vyrnwy and its famous Victorian dam. Take a stroll along the lakes shore or hire a bike and explore one of the cycle tracks. Beyond Lake Vyrnwy you can take the mountain road through Cwm Hirnant over to Bala. The nearby town of Welshpool is also well worth a visit, with its canal and famous Powis Castle, National Trust, which has many acres of grounds to explore, together with the house. The Welshpool and Llanfair Railway runs from Welshpool, with steam trains meandering along the valley to the small town of Llanfair Caereinon, and provides a delightful and unhurried way of seeing the surrounding countryside. Beach 40 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
Tawny Barn can be booked together with The Owl House (ref UK6485) to accommodate up to 14 guests.

About the local area

For those who really want to escape it all then mid Wales is the place to go. Because of the vast mountain ranges in this area much of it is uninhabitable. However this does not stop it from being a beautiful place to visit.

The Cambrian Mountain range dominates and because it is often over looked due to the Snowdonian and Brecon Beacon ranges it is a secret just waiting to be discovered. Fish in one of the many reservoirs and rivers or bike up some of the challenging trails across the range.

Further to the east the towns of Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells both provide amenities for your day in the mountains. From here you can also travel to the Black Mountains in the South East or visit the neighbouring English border
