Situated adjacent to the owner’s home and a short distance from the village of Meifod, this delightful semi-detached holiday cottage for two is in a lovely quiet location, close to the River Vyrnwy. There is a lovely open plan living area and a spacious shared garden to enjoy. This quiet and peaceful area of Mid Wales is just waiting to be discovered, you can fish in the river just 200 yards away (at cost, licence required), or take a nostalgic trip on a steam train on the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway. Walks are available straight from the door, and just 13 miles away is the impressive Lake Vyrnwy with its huge Victorian dam. The pretty town of Welshpool has much to offer, with walks along the Montgomery Canal, a selection of individual shops and eating places, and the impressive Powys Castle and Gardens (National Trust) where you can learn about the history of the Herbert family, visit the Clive of India Museum, meander through the world famous gardens, or simply enjoy a cream tea in the tearoom! Shop and pub 1 mile, restaurant 6 miles.

Lawned garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture (shared with owner). 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times (sheep country). Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced pond in the garden, 30 yards away.

About the local area

For those who really want to escape it all then mid Wales is the place to go. Because of the vast mountain ranges in this area much of it is uninhabitable. However this does not stop it from being a beautiful place to visit.

The Cambrian Mountain range dominates and because it is often over looked due to the Snowdonian and Brecon Beacon ranges it is a secret just waiting to be discovered. Fish in one of the many reservoirs and rivers or bike up some of the challenging trails across the range.

Further to the east the towns of Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells both provide amenities for your day in the mountains. From here you can also travel to the Black Mountains in the South East or visit the neighbouring English border
