The cottage is within 7 miles of the popular fishing village and beach of New Quay, which is at the centre of Cardigan Bay. Guests should take advantage of the boat trips available here in search of the bottle dolphins and enjoy its excellent fish and chips.

Ten miles from the property takes you to Aberaeron, a glorious harbour town, with its rank of colourful Regency Houses - a great spot for enjoying honey ice cream by the harbour. The town is home to the Harbourmaster Hotel, a stylish bar and restaurant. The restaurant is included in the Good Food Guide and offers award winning cuisine. From Aberaeron, travel to The National Trust House of Llanerchaeron (2.5 miles), an 18th Century Welsh gentry estate, with Manor house, walled gardens and home farm. The grounds and ornamental lake and parkland provide peaceful walks - a perfect place to enjoy a picnic. The Ceredigion Coastal Path is within easy reach, where you can enjoy the incredible views of the rugged and dramatic coastline or take a stroll on the many foot paths in the area and watch the red kites fly over. A short drive inland takes you to the towns of Lampeter and Tregaron, both fly and coarse fishing are available here along with golf and horse riding. Cardigan Bay has a reputation for fine local produce and the menus of many of the pubs and restaurants in the area regularly feature Welsh lamb and beef, fresh seafood and locally caught fish, along with local cheeses. Glen yr Afon pub is a stones throw from Ty Canol and serves good food and drink. The Daffodil at Penrhiwllan (9 miles) is worth a visit, a vibrant and well presented gastro pub serving mouth watering, locally sourced food. Set in idyllic rural surroundings amongst quiet country lanes and walkways, Ty Canol is an ideal base for those who want to get away from it all and explore the stunning scenery of the unspoilt Ceredigion countryside, as well as the award winning beaches.
