Follow the cliff path to the pretty harbour town of New Quay (4 miles), watching out for dolphins, seals, peregrine and choughs en-route, all the while relishing the spectacular un-spoilt scenery. New Quay is a firm favourite for dolphin-spotters, with several operators offering wildlife boat trips, along with a centre offering water sports training. Why not wine and dine at one of the pubs or restaurants – many specialising in seafood. Fans of the Welsh poet can follow the Dylan Thomas Trail around New Quay and other areas connected to the famous poet.
A journey of just 10 miles northwards takes you to the Georgian Harbour Town of Aberaeron, where you can wander through interesting streets of multi coloured houses and along its pretty quay side. Lunch or an evening meal at the Harbour Master, located at the end of the quay is a must. Or after a day of exploration, why not enjoy a meal at The Crown Inn, Llwyndafydd, approximately half a mile away from the cottage, renowned for its real ale, bar meals, restaurant and garden.
