Cardigan Bay has a reputation for fine local produce and the menus of many of the pubs and restaurants in the area regularly feature Welsh lamb and beef, fresh seafood and locally caught fish, along with local cheeses.  Guests can visit two pubs close by, Tafarn Bach ½ a mile away which serves food and the Talgarreg Inn, 1 mile away.
The cottage is within 8 miles of the fishing village and beach of New Quay, which is at the centre of Cardigan Bay. Guests should take advantage of the boat trips available here in search of the bottle nose dolphins and enjoy its excellent fish and chips!  10 miles from the property takes you to Aberaeron, a glorious harbour town, with its rank of colourful Regency Houses – a great spot for enjoying honey ice cream by the harbour.  The town is home to the Harbourmaster Hotel, a stylish bar and restaurant.  The restaurant is included in the Good Food Guide and offers award winning cuisine. Another town located close by is Llandysul, home to the Llandysul Paddlers – a canoe club and outdoor education centre which includes kayaking, white water rafting, rock climbing and abseiling to name but a few.

11 miles from the property you will stumble across the 2010 Blue Flag Award beach of Llangrannog.  As well as being regarded as the jewel of the Cardigan Bay, Llangrannog boasts an activity centre where you will find a dry ski slope, go-kart track, swimming pool amongst many other activities.  For the adventurous families there is also Llain Activity Centre, 6 miles away providing action packed family fun days whatever the weather!   If you’re feeling fit, the Ceredigion Coastal Path is in easy reach, where you can enjoy the incredible views of the rugged and dramatic coastline or take a stroll on the many walking footpaths in the area and watch the red kites fly over.  A short drive inland takes you to the towns of Lampeter and Tregaron, both fly and coarse fishing are available here along with golf and horse riding.  The Welsh language is mostly used by the locals here – a perfect opportunity to discover the real Wales.
